CRSCs CounselingThere are various types of Biblical Counseling that help to build up the soul. Some people struggle with various addictions and need intervention; this kind of counseling is recovery oriented. Others struggle with areas in their lives where all they need is clear biblical instruction; this kind of counseling works to resolve a persons problem. A third kind of counseling is relational in its nature and involves individuals investing their hearts and time into others lives. A fourth type is reflective counseling. In reflective counseling, the focus is helping the counselee have insight into his or her own heart. CRSC is committed to helping those who are struggling to consider three important Biblical concepts from Psalm 139. The first concept is an examination of the heart: Search me, O God, and know my heart. We understand that it is only God who can understand the heart. We recognize this and want God to use CRSC as a tool to help struggling individuals through this examination process. The second concept of reflective counseling is that God reveals what is wrong within: See if there be any hurtful way in me. (NASV) The final part of reflective counseling involves Biblical repentance: Lead me in the everlasting way. (NASV) This cannot be accomplished alone; that is why scripture and prayer play a most important role in Biblical Discipleship Counseling.
